This Is Our Story
Mhoro! My name is Chiwara Lovemore.
I was born in 1972 in Kururu Village, under Chief Kazangarare, in Mashonaland West and attended primary and secondary education, achieving 6 O-levels, including Maths and English. Today, my three children are growing up in this same village.
In 1997, I qualified as a driving guide, and in 1998 I joined the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority as a ranger. In 2004, I passed and obtained a River Guide Authority License to take guests out onto the great Zambezi River in canoes.
My biggest achievement, which I have been working towards for years, is my Professional Guides License, which I was awarded in 2008. This prestigious qualification was the culmination of countless hours in the bush where I gained an immense amount of knowledge through observations and by learning from senior rangers.
In addition to leading private safaris, in 2014, I was employed by African Bush Camps to guide guests in their different camps across Hwange and Mana Pools. My love for the Mana area has earned me the local nickname 'Ambassador Mana' as I am a keen advocate for the park, where I have worked on and off since 1997.
On top of being a specialist in guiding safaris, through my own observations and by working with keen photographers, I also have experience in guiding photographic safaris, with a few tips of my own.
I set up BUSHTALK SAFARI's, a family-run operation, to offer my guests a real African authentic adventure. I look forward to welcoming you soon!
“My most memorable walking safari had to be at around 7.15am, a few kms from the Zambezi River. We came across three lionesses taking on a monster: it was a crocodile. After a fierce fight for over 30-minutes, they finally flipped the crocodile onto its back to get at its soft belly. They enjoyed a great feast throughout the entire day and night"
